Mighty Microgreens Workshop
January 29, 2020 @ 6:00PM — 7:30PM Eastern Time (US & Canada)
Community Workshop
Microgreens are herb, flower, or vegetable greens grown densely in trays and harvested just after they’ve put on their first true leaves (about 1-3”). These tiny greens are packed with nutrients, color, and flavor, which is why they are popular among fine dining chefs as a garnish. They are easy to grow indoors and can take as little as 7 days or up to 28 days before they are ready to harvest.
In this workshop, participants will learn about the optimal growing conditions necessary for producing high-quality microgreens indoors as well as the variety of seeds available and their flavor profiles.
Microgreens are simply immature versions of vegetables, herbs and other plants, except microgreens contain 4 to 40 times more nutrients than their mature counterparts! Use them to enhance the color, texture, or flavor of salads and main dishes, or add an extra dose of nutrients to juicing recipes.
$10 registration fee includes sampling, and a take-home starter kit with container (perfect for growing in a kitchen windowsill), magic soil, salad mix seed, and instructions.
